Pups in the Park

Pups in the Park!
This past Saturday, we enjoyed a welcome respite from the rain and went to a ball game!  The Nationals hosted the Braves (Nats won...hooray!) and they sponsored an event called "Pups in the Park."  Yes, it is exactly what you'd imagine it to be.  Hundreds...maybe thousands...of furry friends running amok in Nationals Park.  The event was very well set up.  There were 'relieving areas' made of sod patches, with doggie water coolers nearby.  While Brooks and I ate and drank typical baseball fare, Ruby got doggie ice cream and treats.  She even had her very own reserved seat!

Oh the smells of the city!!  Ruby sniffing her way to Nats Park

I love supporting my home team, but I find myself losing focus after about 20 minutes of any sporting event.  That, my friends, is when the people-watching begins.  I was in heaven on Saturday...I had not only people...but dogs AND people.  I came to the entertaining conclusion that dogs and their owners really do kind of resemble each other.

Ruby was so incredibly overstimulated, she lap-hopped throughout the game.  The poor girl got stepped on at one point by a woman not used to looking so low to the ground and she was in stitches by the end because she refused to use the saturated and smelly 'relieving areas'.  Such a princess.
