Home Sweet Home

I love crafting.  I love a good bargain.  With those powers combined...I am a happy woman! (You thought I was going to say Captain Planet, huh?)

I've seen pictures of milk can planters floating around Pinterest and decided to give it a try.

First stop, Craigslist, where I found a really ugly milk can for $10.

Second stop, WalMart for spray paint, an appropriately-sized flower pot, sticky 3" numbers, and fleurs.  Total cost = $17
Step 3: spray paint the ugly milk can until you can't see the eagle (as patriotic as it may be, not my style for my front stoop).  Adhere the appropriate house numbers.  Plop the plant in the top (this is why the flower pot had to be a certain size).

Step 4: Take a step back and admire a job well done.  I love that this project was a bargain, used repurposed goods, displays our house number, and serves as an interesting, albeit quirky, planter!  Notice Ruby Tuesday, the nosy pup, on Neighborhood Watch.
